Recently I took a morning off work to catch up on a few errands. One of these was to make time to give blood at the Lao Friends Hospital Visitor Centre n Luang Prabang.
It was a simple process and everyone was very friendly. I had a finger pricked and tests were taken and a blood pressure reading. Then the needle went in and a lay there resting for 15 mins which I gave 350 mls.
There are on average, 25 or more serious life threatening road traffic accidents weekly in Vientiane alone. One person’s donation can save up to three people’s lives. The Lao National Blood Service is in need of more blood. Here is some information from them.
